After dropping off your luggage at the Nautica Hotel in a room facing the sea and more precisely at the port of Perros-Guirec, it's time to get out the program for these two days on the Côte de Granit Rose. Today, you'll need your hiking boots. You'll also need to pack your beach bag, swimsuit and camera to capture all those first memories of your trip. Perros-Guirec.
Start your day exploring the Sentier des Douaniers, also known as the GR34. This coastal path takes you along the cliffs of the Côte de Granit Rose. It offers the best views of the ocean and the region's characteristic rock formations.
Start your hike from Trestraou beach. Follow the "Douaniers" path to the port of Ploumanac'h (2h30). From the heights of La Clarté, admire the semaphore and, in the distance, the 7-island archipelago, France's largest bird sanctuary.
Walk along the 300-million-year-old pink granite coastline and observe the strange shapes created by natural erosion. Arriving at Pors-Kamor cove, the SNSM (Société nationale de sauvetage en mer) lifeboats are ready to intervene. Continue on your way to the nugget of the Pink Granite Coast: the Mean Ruz lighthouse. Not far from the lighthouse, the Maison du Littoral welcomes you and answers your questions.
Finally, continue your stroll to the Saint-Guirec beachwhere you'll find the oratory of the same name. Take the stairs to the Saint-Guirec chapel, then the Bastille beach and finally, your final destination: the port of Ploumanac'h.
Remember to walk at your own pace, hydrate regularly and soak up the natural beauty that surrounds you.
After a morning's walk, enjoy a picnic on theone of Perros-Guirec's heavenly beachesas beautiful (if not more so) than those in the Caribbean.
For example, Trestignel beachoffers crystal-clear water and fine white sand. As you watch the waves roll in, make yourself comfortable on your towel and enjoy a picnic of selected delicacies from the market or nearby shops.
After this gourmet break, throw away your preconceptions about the water temperature in Brittany and run for a swim in this turquoise water. Dry off in the sun and catch up on your reading. Play with the white sand and build the most beautiful sand castles, inspired by the one at Costaérès. Finally, take a walk along the beach and add to your shell collection.
If you're more of an adventurous soul, try your hand at water sports, renting a kayak or paddle to explore the coast from the sea.
To complete the chapter of your first day in Perros-Guirec, head for Ploumanac'h, an old fishing hamlet renowned for its pink granite rocks. Stroll along the coastal path and admire the spectacular rock formations, including the famous Rocher de la Vierge at the Saint-Guirec oratory.
In the past, according to local tradition, a young girl wishing to marry had to insert a hairpin into the Virgin's nose. If the pin held for the duration of a tide, the young lady would be married within the year. Unfortunately, Saint-Guirec lost its nose due to constant demand.
After observing the absence of the Virgin's nose, enjoy the sunset over the sea from the most beautiful spot on the Pink Granite Coast: Mean Ruz lighthouse. Rebuilt in 1947 from La Clarté pink granite, this iconic lighthouse offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Château de Costaérès, Île Renote and the Sept-Îles archipelago.
And to further enhance the beauty of the scenery, enjoy a delicious home-made ice cream from Keo Glacierfacing the sea.
Start your second day in Perros-Guirec by admiring the magnificent sunrise over the harbour from the top of the hill. your room at Nautica and head off to a delicious breakfast local and gourmet. Once you've had your fill of energy, set off to discover the 7 Islands archipelago, where puffins and seals live a peaceful life, then hike through the pink granite chaos around Renote Island.
Start the day by discovering the Archipel des 7 îles, France's largest ornithological nature reserve.
This islet of 7 islands (Rouzic, Malban, Les Costans, Bono, Île-aux-Moines, Île Plate and Le Cerf) is home to France's largest colony of gannets. In all, there are 27 species of breeding birds, including 12 seabird species, representing over 23,000 pairs.
This archipelago is a protected natural site. However, it is possible to admire this exceptional flora and fauna by taking a speedboat. On a boat trip with Armor Navigation for example, you can observe numerous species of birds, such as puffins, without disturbing them, as well as seals basking on the rocks.
Is a Breton weekend a success if you don't eat a crêpe? We don't think so. Before you set off again, enjoy the sublime view over the port of Perros-Guirec by savoring a delicious, lacy crêpe, à la Crêperie des Flots or the Old rigs.
Then, round off your Perros-Guirec getaway in style with a visit to Renote Island. In the early afternoon, take the coastal path that will lead you to this small island paradise.
Although we call it Île Renote, it has been firmly attached to the mainland for over a century, and is therefore more akin to a peninsula. Accessible to all, it offers a wild and unspoilt natural landscape, combining pink granite rocks, lush vegetation and secret coves. You can also swim in the turquoise waters of the secluded coves or simply relax on the fine sandy beaches, such as the lovely Ti Al Lia beach.
Ile Renote is a real invitation to escape and contemplate, a real preserved treasure that will leave you with unforgettable memories of your time in Perros-Guirec.
